Opportunities for development

Your personal and professional development are of great importance to BDO. As an employer, we consider you are our most valuable asset. By focusing on your personal development we develop our organization as well, improving our customer service and expanding our business. Twice yearly, official sessions are held between you and your superior to discuss your professional development, individual educational needs, expectations and ambitions. Based on these sessions, you determine together which additional courses you will take and which additional training you will be receiving in the coming year(s).

External Training
Dependent on your academic background, your position at BDO and your own preferences, you will take part in external training activities and educational courses.

Formal Internships
In order to become a RA (registered accountant) or AA (administrative accountant) you have to complete a professional internship, which can be done at BDO. BDO has its own placement office for interns, formally recognized by the NIVRA and the NOVAA, which guarantees the quality of your internship and provides professional supervision.

Internal Courses
BDO offers its employees an internal educational program every year. This program consists of both professional courses and professional skills training. Courses and training modules are given by internal and external professionals.

E-learning
BDO is developing more and more courses centered on E-learning methods.

Professional Meetings and Courses
The laws and regulations that play an important role in your daily work are subject to change regularly. That’s why BDO organizes professional meetings, workshops and courses on a regular basis to keep abreast of all new developments.

Agreement considering Educational Costs
When taking additional educational courses, in consultation with BDO, the corresponding educational costs for college and examination fees and text books are usually refunded completely by BDO.

Study leave, exam leave and preparation leave
When enrolling in a course of study that can take place only during working hours, employees receive leave from BDO to attend courses during these hours. When exams are organized within working hours, the time necessary to travel to and take these exams is made available to BDO employees by way of special leave.
